Privacy Policy

Last updated October 15, 2026

Gumbo is a desktop video editor with an AI assistant. This policy explains what information Gumbo collects, how it is used and the choices you have. Questions go to yuanchengli612@gmail.com.

What stays on your computer

Your projects, original media files, edits, timelines and exports are stored on your own computer. Gumbo does not upload your original media files. Access to files elsewhere on your computer is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings.

Information we collect

Crash logs are written to your computer only. Gumbo does not use advertising or third-party analytics trackers.

How we use it

We use this information to sign you in, run the AI assistant, apply usage limits, host videos you share, keep the service secure and answer support requests. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

Google user data

If you sign in with Google, Gumbo receives only your name, email address and profile picture, and uses them only to sign you in and identify your account. Gumbo's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How long we keep it

Account information and usage records are kept while your account exists. AI provider responses are deleted after 24 hours. Shared videos stay available until you ask us to remove them or your account is deleted.

Your choices

You can use Gumbo's local editing without an account. To access, correct or delete your account, its usage records or your shared videos, email yuanchengli612@gmail.com from the address on the account. We will respond within 30 days. You can also remove Gumbo's access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Security

Connections to our servers are encrypted, sign-in details are stored encrypted on your computer, and AI provider keys never leave our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

Gumbo is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
